Temporary Amazon Relay Owner Operator information

How much does Amazon pay if you have your own cargo van?

As a Temporary Amazon Relay Owner Operator with your own cargo van, you can earn approximately $1.50 to $2.50 per mile, depending on factors like route, location, and experience. Payments are typically made weekly and may include additional incentives for on-time deliveries and safety performance.

Does Amazon Relay pay for gas?

Amazon Relay owner operators are typically responsible for their own fuel costs, as they are independent contractors. The pay structure usually covers the freight rate, and fuel expenses are deducted from earnings, so drivers often track fuel efficiency to maximize profit. Some drivers may receive fuel discounts through partnerships or programs, but direct reimbursement is uncommon.

What is a Temporary Amazon Relay Owner Operator?

A Temporary Amazon Relay Owner Operator is an independent truck driver or small fleet owner who contracts with Amazon to transport freight for a limited period, often to meet seasonal or short-term demand. These operators use their own vehicles to haul loads assigned through the Amazon Relay platform, which connects carriers with available Amazon shipments. Temporary roles may last for a few weeks or months, depending on business needs, and provide flexibility for operators who prefer not to commit to long-term contracts. This position is ideal for those seeking extra income or looking to fill gaps in their existing schedules.
