Job description

Job Overview


We're seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Temporary Registered Nurse to join our client's healthcare team in a 3-4 month assignment at their practice locations in Biddeford and South Portland.


In this role, you will use professional nursing processes to assess and support patients and families who call or present for care within the physician office. You will collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice practitioners, delivering comprehensive patient care services and helping ensure high-quality, compassionate care for our Infectious Disease practice.


Details:

  • 100% on-site in Biddeford & South Portland
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Biddeford Office: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • South Portland Office: Tuesdays and Fridays
  • Assignment: Long-term temporary assignment (approx. 3-4 months) with potential for extension or official hire


Duties:

  • Triage incoming phone calls to the practice
  • Room patients and take vital signs
  • Arrange PICC placements
  • Work with medication/home health agencies for patient services
  • Obtain prior authorizations
  • Administer vaccines to patients traveling outside of the country
  • Administer HIV/PReP medications
  • Respond to patient and MD messages per request


Requirements

  • Valid RN license in good standing with relevant state nursing board.
  • Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, emergency rooms, ICU/trauma centers, or long-term care facilities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Extensive clinical skills including IV insertion, medication administration (including injections), phlebotomy, tube feeding management, and aseptic technique.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards.
  • Ability to handle complex cases involving acute pain management, infectious disease care, occupational health issues, or behavioral health concerns.
  • Strong communication skills for effective triage assessments and patient education.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedures (NRP), or other relevant specialties are preferred.
