Neuroscience Group is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our Imaging and Pain Management team. This will be a full time role working M-F 8 hours per day with varying start times. In this unique role, you'll combine direct patient care with patient education, helping individuals navigate imaging and pain management procedures while ensuring they feel informed, prepared, and supported throughout their care journey. Working closely with physicians, clinical staff, and affiliate partners, you'll play an integral role in coordinating procedural education, promoting standardized clinical workflows, and enhancing the overall patient experience. Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides prompt, courteous assistance regarding the needs of our patients and their families, visitors, and the public.
  • Reviews patient medical and surgical history, medications, and allergies prior to patient appointment.
  • Develop and maintain educational handouts for procedures
  • Confer with patients to obtain information and prepares for the procedure by providing detailed instructions and answers patient questions to calm fears and elicit cooperation.
  • Facilitate consistency of patient education among providers
  • Explain expectations for various procedures - including positioning, use of needle, medication, table height
  • Explain pre and post injection instructions
  • Address current medications/ Allergies
  • Address insulin pump and glucose levels when appropriate
  • Prescriptions phoned to pharmacy.
  • Requests approval from prescribing providers to hold medications based on blood thinner protocol.
  • Validate approval to proceed with procedure from other disciplines (i.e. cardiologist)
  • Transports patients to and from various areas of the clinic as needed.
  • Prepares and administers medications for specified procedures.
  • Aids with movement of patients to and from radiographic rooms and tables.
  • Present during procedures and assists in basic patient care under the direction of a physician.
  • Monitors medical status of patients, i.e., takes vitals following procedure and provides general care needs promptly. Documents patient data in Epic.
  • Notifies physicians, nurses, radiology staff, and/or family members of any change in patient's health and provides proper documentation.
  • Refers questions to physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
  • Performs routine blood draws and IV starts.
  • Prepares, labels, and stores patient specimens according to department procedures using standard techniques in preparation for processing and resulting at external facility.
  • Assists with preparing patients for procedures by reviewing medical history and safety screening forms.
  • Schedules patient appointments as requested, including imaging, follow-up appointments, and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Upload images to PACS to be reviewed by MD.
  • Collaborate with the clinic and radiology teams to provide a smooth patient experience
  • Support the workflow and efficiency of physiatry procedures
  • Create and maintain a Special procedures binder
  • Utilizes standard procedures to protect patient identification and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Cleans assigned work area and equipment. Stocks recovery rooms and laboratory area with supplies, including clean linens. Disposes of any soiled laundry.
  • Performs all other temporary and/or permanent duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a nursing certificate or baccalaureate degree
  • Experience with phlebotomy
  • CPR certification
  • Epic & PACS knowledge helpful
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a procedural related nursing preferred
  • Must be able to respond to both written and oral correspondence
  • Must be organized and be able to manage demanding workload with accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff, and physicians
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires frequent change in position, including bending, stooping, standing, stretching, walking and sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling. May involve lifting of up to 30-40 pounds.

Salary Description
