Job description

Temporary Psychiatric Care Registered Nurse

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11–17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family and social challenges. The dedicated professionals at Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provide quality mental health treatment for children. The program establishes healthy behaviors and prepares children to transition back home. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.

Position Summary: This position supports our team as a temporary assignment for 12 weeks on 12-hour day shifts, with the possibility of extension for up to 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for RNs who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in psychiatric care without a long-term commitment. As a temporary position this is not eligible for our benefit programs, we offer exceptional pay of $75/hour. Current or recent employees of UHS are not eligible for this program. Note: Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible.

Position Description: The Registered Nurse RN coordinates and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with the interdisciplinary team in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. They oversee and direct the Mental Health Technicians on their units to provide for the safety and needs of the patients.

Qualifications: Job Requirements Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing required. Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. License: Registered Nurse RN license issued by the State of Florida required.
