To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
POSITION SUMMARY
If you love to work outside and can run a brush cutter, then the trails of Steamboat Ski & Resort need YOU! Must be able to walk on uneven terrain for long periods of time in all weather and may be asked to safely operate a chainsaw.
Hiking assessment will be required for employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Operation of gas-powered saws and brush cutters on rugged terrain
  • Sharpen chain and daily maintenance of assigned equipment
  • Vehicle operation to include Company trucks, Ranger
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Install and remove temporary fencing, revegetation of disturbed project sites
  • Maintain storm water runoff best management practices
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of previous work history/education required
  • Medic first-aid or Wilderness First Responder preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards
  • Must have safety toe footwear
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp Service Excellence standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: Starting at $20.50 - $25.50 per hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • May be asked to safely operate a chain saw
  • Must safely operate a brush cutter
  • Must be minimum 18 years of age
  • Must walk on uneven often rugged terrain and tolerate inclement weather
  • Must lift and/or carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Work hand/power tools continuously
