Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor's degree in related field. Two years of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs moderately complex administrative and supervisory program work, as well as direct student support for the Academic Success Center and the Academic Care and Resilience team.
This is a full-time, temporary, grant funded position expected to end on or before 01/01/2028. Continuation of this position is contingent upon continued funding
Primary Responsibilities
Delivers individualized coaching to first-generation, socioeconomically disadvantaged, and at-risk students using evidence-based approaches including motivational interviewing, appreciative inquiry, and metacognitive skill development. Provides targeted support for students at critical transition points including pre-enrollment preparation and academic re-entry. Conducts study skills assessments and develops personalized academic success plans. Monitors early alert systems and coordinates timely intervention responses. Conducts proactive outreach to students identified through alerts, data analytics, and campus referrals, including disconnected learners and returning students. Assesses student situations, determines appropriate support pathways, and connects students with campus resources. Documents interactions and outcomes in student success platforms. Maintains consistent follow-up and tracks engagement patterns. Teaches and/or provides lateral support for academic success courses and structured programming. Assists with program logistics, student participation tracking, and coordination of materials. Develops resources and assessment tools. Assists in developing outreach materials, coaching frameworks, and intervention protocols. Adapts approaches based on student feedback and outcome data. Provides day-to-day supervision of learning coaches including task assignments, schedule coordination, and quality monitoring. Trains coaches on techniques, protocols, and best practices. Conducts regular check-ins and performance feedback. Models effective coaching practices. Maintains comprehensive records of student interactions and interventions. Tracks participation rates, engagement patterns, and outcomes. Prepares regular reports on program effectiveness. Establishes collaborative relationships with academic departments, advising, student affairs, and other campus units. Serves as liaison for student referrals and coordinated services. Participates in retention and student success initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned.
