General Statement of Duties
Responsible for operational and technical personnel duties including application intake, data entry, file maintenance benefits and compensation section support, and general Human Resources customer service delivery.
The principal function of an employee in this class is to provide daily support needed to ensure a successful day-to-day Human Resources operation. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Human Resources Director or his/her designee. However, due the occasional access and handling of confidential information considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees in various departments. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.
Acceptable Experience and Training
  • An Associates Degree and one (1) year of Human Resources experience, OR
  • Three (3) years Human Resources generalist and compensation or benefits administration experience, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Required Special Qualifications

  • Provides technical support on hiring, evaluations, promotions, terminations and performance issues.
  • Provides information on all public personnel matters, such as job openings, pay rates and minimum qualifications necessary for employment in a specific position.
  • Evaluates and screens application materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
