Job Description Summary
Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt
The Video Editor is a core member of the Office of Academic Innovation's Learning Design and Technology Team. This role is responsible for editing high-quality online course content, program marketing assets, and a range of multimedia projects that support Penn Engineering Online and Penn Engineering. The editor will assemble and refine recorded footage, apply strong visual and audio editing techniques, and produce finished media that aligns with Penn standards. The role also provides production support for studio sessions, field shoots, and other multimedia needs. We strongly prefer candidates who can work on-site in Philadelphia.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Multimedia Production and works closely with instructional designers, faculty, media producers, and project managers. As our production volume grows, this role will help strengthen our internal media pipeline and uphold consistent quality across all deliverables.
Job Description
Temporary Employee - Non-Exempt
Responsibilities:
Post Production
  • Edit course lectures, demos, labs, and program videos from raw footage to final delivery
  • Build motion graphics packages and simple animations for instructional content
  • Mix audio, apply color correction, and ensure consistent brand look and feel
  • Source and prep stock footage and design b roll sequences
  • Maintain an organized file structure across productions, shared drives, and media servers
  • QC final outputs for technical accuracy, accessibility needs, and brand compliance

Production Support
  • Support studio recordings: setup, teardown, camera checks, lighting, and audio
  • Track equipment usage and help maintain cameras, lights, mics, batteries, and accessories
  • Serve as backup videographer and photographer for studio or field shoots
  • Assist with documentation of workflows and improvements to the production pipeline
  • Support special projects such as interviews, events, or short-form social content

Qualifications:
  • 2 to 3 years of professional editing experience
  • Expert level proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Strong experience with After Effects for graphics and light animation
  • Experience with Audition for audio cleanup and mixing
  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom
  • Comfortable with multi cam editing and audio sync workflows
  • Reliable file management habits with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing tasks in a high volume environment
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with faculty and subject matter experts
  • Preferred: on site availability in Philadelphia for studio work and team collaboration
