Are you an early riser? The Residence Inn by Marriott, located in the Brier Creek/RDU area of Raleigh, is currently hiring for a part-time Breakfast Attendant. This person hired for this position will work weekends, 5:30am-10:30am.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a Breakfast Attendant, you will be responsible for providing outstanding service to guests during the morning hours. This position is essential to our mission of providing exceptional service and ensuring guest satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides excellent customer service that goes above and beyond, by interacting with all hotel guests, in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Prepares cold and hot breakfast items prior to the start of breakfast service such as cutting fruit/veggies, heat/cook hot breakfast items, coffee, hot water, etc.
  • Sets up breakfast service area according to established brand standards, including, but not limited to, serving dishes, chafing/chill dishes, utensils, F&B labels/cards, cups, plates, bowls, coffee, coffee condiments, juice dispensers, chill station, dairy products, cold food, hot food, bakery station, condiments, fresh food condiments/toppings, and equipment
  • Checks hot breakfast items every 30 minutes during breakfast service. Replenish, refresh, stir/rotate, temp and pull hot breakfast items, according to established brand standards, for max/min fill thresholds, minimum temperatures, and maximum hold times
  • Checks cold, bakery, fresh and packaged breakfast items every 30 minutes during breakfast service. Replenish, reorganize, and check temps, according to established brand standards, for min thresholds, and acceptable temperatures
  • Bus, clear and clean tables as they become available; wash utensils, dishes, etc.; clean up spills; remove trash
  • Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment, dishes, utensils, floors, trash bins and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, removing trash, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing temp logs and daily cleaning checklist
  • Takes inventory of food and beverages items and supplies. Informs management of regular purchasing needs and critical shortages

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience working in a customer facing position is required
  • Ability to get to work on time as scheduled and work the early morning shift (breakfast area must be set up by 6 AM daily).
  • Ability to present a professional demeanor, both in appearance and communication skills
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to engage and interact with associates and guests
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • Must be able to multi- task and prioritize tasks when needed
  • Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of the proper use, maintenance, cleaning of industrial kitchen equipment, and food preparation.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position work primarily indoors. Employees work in a customer- facing environment, and must be able to provide excellent customer service at all times. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements. Employees must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time, and frequently bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds.
