Job description

We install what we sell.

Construction Ahead USA is a commercial exterior cladding subcontractor, and our in-house crews install the exteriors on major brand projects nationwide: Target, Bank of America, Raising Cane's, Speedway, and Amazon.

Health insurance costs you $0.

Starting Pay runs $55,000 to $91,000, and senior PMs land at the top. One posting, every level.

Our National Accounts division runs the brand-name work.

Our Retail Commercial division handles the complex builds: healthcare, education, multifamily, hospitality, banking, civic, and office projects carrying multiple product systems on one envelope.

See the work at https://www.constructionaheadinc.com/projects.

The envelope is the first thing anyone sees on a building and the last line protecting everything inside it. Our work hangs on hospitals, schools, banks, and stores people walk into every day, and it carries our name under warranty for decades after the crews leave. That's the work you'll run.

WHERE YOU LAND

How many years of pertinent commercial project management experience do you have?

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field counts as two years of pertinent experience.

Military leadership or logistics experience counts as pertinent experience. Tell us what you ran, and we'll place the bracket.

Entry Level: 0 to 2 years of pertinent experience, or a construction-related degree

Starting Pay: $55,000 to $62,000, plus full benefits: $0-cost health insurance, 401K with a 6% company match, and paid time off.

You start in our National Accounts lane: fast, repeatable projects nationwide, direct contact with GC teams from day one, and the right habits built the right way.

3 to 4 Years: pertinent project coordination or management experience

Starting Pay: $63,000 to $70,000, plus full benefits: $0-cost health insurance, 401K with a 6% company match, and paid time off.

More projects, more authority, and larger scopes as you prove out.

5+ Years Running Commercial Projects

Starting Pay: $71,000 to $91,000, plus full benefits: $0-cost health insurance, 401K with a 6% company match, and paid time off.

At this level, you're not assisting anybody. You run your own projects, manage the GC relationship, and own the outcome.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

This job is organization, logistics, and communication every day for building envelope and facade installations from award through closeout. The work scales with your level: if your current title is Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Project Engineer, we built the first two brackets for you. Seniority changes how much of the project is yours and how complex the projects get: entry lives in National Accounts, and each step up moves toward larger retail projects that carry multiple product systems in one building. Systems we run: Asana, eSUB, Dropbox, Bluebeam, Procore.

Building your foundation (National Accounts lane):

• Communicate directly with GC teams on fast-moving National Account projects

• Maintain RFI logs, Change Order logs, and submittal tracking across active projects

• Track labor hours, material usage, and installation progress

• Assist with billing documentation, CO records, purchase order filing, and retainage tracking

Proving out (larger scopes, multi-product projects):

• Manage contracts, submittals, and shop drawings on retail and multi-product projects

• Coordinate schedules with the Project Coordinator and the GC's Superintendent

• Track RFIs, Construction Bulletins, and every change that moves with the project

• Manage material ordering and delivery logistics against the project schedule

Running your own projects:

• Own execution from turnover through closeout

• Direct Construction Ahead's own installation crews and own labor performance against the estimate

• Identify, document, and build the change order records that Estimating prices

• Own the pay application, schedule of values, and retainage through collection

• Deliver the complete closeout package and manage the GC relationship start to finish

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

• Not remote or hybrid. On-site in Elkhorn, WI. Office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM.

• Not a role that hands out pricing, contract, or scope authority on day one. You earn those calls as you climb the brackets. Until then, they run through your direct report.

• Not an unstructured environment. You bring the discipline.

If those lines turn you away, no hard feelings. If they sound like relief, keep reading.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be proficient with computers and project management software. The higher your bracket, the more we expect on day one.

• Pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.

• Hold a valid Driver's License. Travel is limited by design: our PMs average 3 to 6 site visits a year, our Field Superintendent covers most of the road work, and you're home almost every night.

Founded in 1997. Low turnover, clear lanes of roles and responsibilities, and direct interaction with the Owner instead of layers of management above your head. You ask for a decision; you get it the same day. The structure defines your lane, and nobody stands over your shoulder inside it.

No red tape, no micromanagement, no committee between you and an answer.

We train our people and promote from within, and team building here looks like golf outings and Packers and Brewers games.
