Our Construction Engineering practice works with fabricators, erectors, construction managers and general contractors to provide connection design, temporary stability analysis, design of structures delegated to the contractor, design of industrial structures, and construction means-and-methods engineering. There will be an emphasis on the development of relationships with current, but also new clients to grow the practices revenue potential. The core areas of focus for growth are providing structural and construction engineering services for the construction industry.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join Construction Engineering Practice as a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer will be primarily involved in the structural design of Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing structures. The Project Engineer will also be called on to provide connection design, temporary stability analysis, and contractor support as work-load dictates.

The day-to-day activities will include the design of structural steel and concrete structures and creation of contract documents. They will also design connections that range from simple shear connections to connections with multiple members that must be analyzed for the structures they are designing. Temporary stability analysis and design involving the analysis of alternate load paths through a partially erected steel structure and the design of temporary bracing for its stability during steel erection.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible implementing the direction of engineering projects as defined by their Project Manager.

  • Communication with clients to understand the project requirements.

  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.

  • Design of structural steel connections.

  • Preparation of contract documents utilizing Revit.

  • Manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, supervise the work of engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications.

  • Participate in the QAQC program for projects.

Requirements

  • Degree (Master preferred) in structural engineering or a related field.

  • Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer license.

  • Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, and AutoCAD.

  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
