Project Engineer - Cement / Heavy Industrial Manufacturing

Looking for engineers who actually understand rotating equipment, maintenance practices, and real-world plant operations.

We are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer with experience in cement manufacturing or related heavy industrial environments who can manage projects from concept through commissioning while supporting reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.

This is not a desk-only engineering role.

The right person will be comfortable working directly with operations and maintenance teams, troubleshooting equipment issues, driving capital projects, and improving plant reliability in a demanding industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from design through installation and commissioning
  • Develop project schedules and cost estimates
  • Administer projects within Oracle Project Accounting
  • Coordinate contractors, purchasing, specifications, and project execution activities
  • Monitor and report project schedules and costs to management
  • Maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project records
  • Support plant operations through implementation of critical improvement projects
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) initiatives
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and reliability activities
  • Help improve equipment reliability and plant availability
  • Collaborate directly with maintenance personnel in a hands-on manufacturing environment
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation as needed
  • Travel periodically to domestic U.S. facilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in:
    • Cement
    • Lime
    • Aggregates
    • Mining
    • Steel
    • Power generation
    • Or similar heavy industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing projects from concept through commissioning
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Rotating equipment
    • Conveyors
    • Crushers
    • Kilns
    • Fans
    • Pumps
    • Motors
    • Hydraulics
    • And other heavy industrial plant systems
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Maintenance processes
    • Reliability principles
    • Preventive and predictive maintenance practices
  • Experience with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Proficient with:
    • Microsoft Office
    • AutoCAD
    • Microsoft Project
  • Oracle Project Accounting experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, hands-on, and inquisitive mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
Why This Opportunity?
  • High visibility within plant leadership
  • Opportunity to own projects from start to finish
  • Strong operational involvement
  • Stable heavy industrial operation
  • Exposure to major plant improvement initiatives
  • Ability to make a measurable impact on reliability and production
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
