Position Description
The Lean Systems Engineer Co-op will be highly motivated and tech-savvy individual ready to drive our factory into the future. He/she will support the plant's digital transformation and Lean initiatives by developing visual factory tools, real-time digital dashboards, and automated process documents. This role blends Lean manufacturing principles with modern digital visualization, coding, and data automation practices, helping make production processes more transparent, efficient, and easier to manage.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop digital visual displays, KPI boards, and on-screen metrics to support Lean initiatives.
  • Create dashboards (Power BI or custom-coded) for OEE, downtime, scrap, and other KPIs.
  • Automate manual process documents such as SOPs, checklists, and Tier boards.
  • Assist Kaizen teams with digitally enhanced process maps, VSM visuals, and bottleneck visualizations.
  • Integrate machine/line performance data into actionable digital visual insights.
  • Design and implement workflow automation scripts for recurring tasks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and deploy digital solutions.
  • Participate in Gemba walks to collect data and convert it into visual insights.
  • Support in other CI Projects and kaizen events as per the need
  • Perform data collection from the shop floor and summarize it into actionable insights for process improvements.
  • Help develop, document, and maintain standard work, SOPs, and visual controls.

Required Education & Qualifications
Education
  • Pursuing a BS in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.

Technical Skills
  • Advance programming skills (Python, JavaScript, SQL, or similar).
  • Familiarity with dashboard tools such as Power BI.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and visual management basics.
  • Comfort working with manufacturing data sets (OEE, downtime, scrap, cycle time).
