Job description

A warm, easygoing family in Norwalk, CT is seeking an experienced Temporary Full-Time Infant Nanny to care for their happy and easygoing 6-month-old daughter. This is a temporary position beginning August 17th with an anticipated commitment of 2–4 weeks. The family is also open to the role becoming permanent if it is the right fit on both sides. The family is looking for a dependable, nurturing professional who can provide consistency, maintain their daughter's established routine, and offer peace of mind during this transition.The family is looking for someone who understands infant development, enjoys this stage of childhood, and can confidently continue supporting her developmental milestones while maintaining the structure that has been established.The position can be live-in or live-out. For a live-in candidate, private accommodations are provided on the third floor of the home, including a private bedroom and bathroom. Start Date: August 17, 2026Commitment: Approximately 2–4 weeksSchedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 50 hours per week. The family can be slightly flexible with scheduling and can accommodate shifts such as 7:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, depending on the candidate's availability.
  • Provide attentive, loving, and developmentally appropriate care for one 6-month-old infant
  • Maintain the baby's established daily routine, including three naps and feeding schedule
  • Support age-appropriate developmental milestones through engaging play, tummy time, reading, music, and sensory activities
  • Continue implementing the family's sleep consultant recommendations while maintaining consistency with established routines
  • Prepare bottles and clean and sanitize bottles after use
  • Complete the baby's laundry
  • Keep the nursery, play areas, and baby-related items clean and organized
  • Take the baby on neighborhood walks and enjoy outdoor time as appropriate
  • Maintain open communication with the parents regarding daily routines, feedings, naps, and any concerns
  • Follow all household safety practices and provide exceptional infant supervision

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a FT nanny or Newborn Care Specialist
  • Experience introducing solids 
  • Strong understanding of infant developmental milestones
  • Experience maintaining structured infant schedules and sleep routines
  • Comfortable following guidance from a sleep consultant and maintaining consistency
  • Warm, calm, nurturing, and highly dependable
  • Excellent judgment and strong safety awareness
  • Able to confidently work independently while collaborating with work-from-home parents
  • Comfortable reading the room and maintaining professional boundaries during the parents' workday
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Career nanny with outstanding professional references

  • CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain)
  • Up-to-date on COVID, Flu, RSV, and standard childhood vaccinations
  • Non-smoker
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a home with one friendly dog (no pet care required)
  • Driving is not required for this temporary position
  • Available for the full temporary commitment beginning August 17th
