This role will provide project controls support for medium- to high-complexity electric transmission and distribution projects, including transmission line, substation, and electric generation interconnection scopes. The successful candidate will manage schedule and cost information, collaborate closely with project teams, and deliver accurate forecasts, reporting, and project controls documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling and Forecasting
  • Create and maintain resource-loaded project schedules in Primavera P6, partnering with Project Managers to status schedules and ensure accurate forecasts, reporting, and baselines.
  • Develop and update schedules that forecast labor resources, contracts, and materials through the full project lifecycle, including support for monthly baseline-setting activities.
  • Attend project site visits as required to collect actual progress and build schedule detail in coordination with engineering and construction teams.

Cost, Budget, and Contract Support
  • Support the management of project scope, schedule, and cost, including required budget forecasting in PG&E systems.
  • Coordinate contract payment schedules, contractor progress reporting, accruals, executed contracts, change orders, and related schedule updates.
  • Create and update project documentation, including estimates, budget requests, scope changes, baseline requests, and official project records.

Project Controls Reporting and Governance
  • Analyze project controls trends, dashboard metrics, schedule variances, risk registers, construction readiness, and other performance information; prepare and present timely updates.
  • Prepare financial, scheduling, forecast, and status reports in accordance with PG&E standards, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate project data for governance compliance, data quality, and performance against key indicators such as float, trend analysis, executability, Contract Forecast Management, order management, and SOX compliance.

Collaboration and Project Delivery
  • Participate in staff, resource, and project meetings and provide updated schedules, resource information, and reports as required.
  • Interface with PG&E staff, Project Managers, contractors, engineering teams, and construction teams to support project execution and respond to ad hoc requests.
  • Perform work in accordance with PG&E specifications, procedures, standards, and applicable site-safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of project controls, scheduling, or related experience within the utilities industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6, including schedule development, updates, forecasting, and baseline management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing both cost and schedule information for capital projects.
  • Experience developing and maintaining resource-loaded schedules and analyzing schedule performance and variances.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across project teams.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt to evolving requirements, and take on new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting electric transmission and distribution projects, including transmission line, substation, or generation interconnection scopes.
  • Familiarity with PG&E project controls processes, procedures, systems, or reporting standards.
  • Experience with project controls tools and platforms such as SAP, Unifier, ProjectWise, or comparable systems.
  • Experience supporting contract forecasts, payment schedules, accruals, change orders, risk registers, and construction readiness reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate directly with engineering and construction teams and participate in project site visits as needed.

Working Hours & Location:
  • Full-time role with standard business hours and occasional additional hours based on project deadlines or business needs.
  • The position is currently remote with occasional in-person meetings. Beginning in September, the selected candidate will be expected to work from PG&E's Oakland office two days per week.
  • Candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area are strongly preferred. Occasional travel or project site visits within PG&E's service territory may be required.

Compensation Range: $128,960 - $139,360 annually
What's In It for You:
  • Comprehensive Health Coverage (medical, dental, vision)
  • Optional benefits like pet insurance, legal insurance and supplemental health plans
  • 401(k) with day-one eligibility. You'll get a 100% match on the first 3% of your eligible compensation and 50% match on contributions between 3% and 5% of your pay.
  • Generous time off: 10 paid holidays, and PTO starting at 15 days, growing to up to 25 days
  • Access to Consertus Academy for continuous learning and development
