CNC Machine Repair Technician II - 1st Shift
Location: Durham, NC | Pay Rate: $22-$24/hr | Temp-to-Hire
About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a CNC Machine Repair Technician II on 1st shift, where your technical expertise ensures the reliability and safety of cutting-edge industrial equipment. This hands-on position offers a supportive work environment, structured training, and the potential for long-term career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on CNC machine tools and industrial equipment
- Independently identify and resolve safety issues and potential equipment failures
- Accurately interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and prints
- Operate diagnostic instruments and hand tools to ensure equipment performance and energy efficiency
- Respond promptly to customer work orders, providing clear feedback and ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations
- Implement company safety policies, including PPE usage, lockout/tag-out, and hazard analysis
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Recommend improvements for equipment performance and maintenance processes
- Support general facility maintenance and complete additional tasks as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience with building, facility, or equipment maintenance in an industrial/commercial setting
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical systems
- Proficient in reading schematics and using diagnostic hardware
- Valid driver's license; ability to work at heights up to 30 feet
- Physically fit: able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, bend/stoop, kneel, and walk extensively
- Authorized to work in the US; able to obtain facility security badge
- Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening
Preferred Skills
- Associate's degree in industrial electrical or related field
- Experience with 480V 3-phase circuits, motor controls, VFDs, and PLC troubleshooting
- Familiarity with PC-based work order/time reporting systems
