Job Description Summary:

The Senior Legal Support Analyst (LSA) makes consistent contributions to the mentoring, training, and professional development of Legal Support Analysts (LSAs). Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, they provide support to firm attorneys and their clients. They observe the firm's established policies and guidelines and maintain positive contact with attorneys (including outside counsel), support staff, clients, and vendors. They always observe and maintain confidentiality of firm matter.
This position can be based in any of our U.S. office locations and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring one day onsite per week in office, with the possibility of additional required inoffice days depending on business and client needs. The work schedule for this position (nonexempt) will be 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility and the ability to work overtime as needed.

Job Description:

  • Provide consistent contributions to the mentoring and training of Legal Support Analysts
  • Serve as support on projects taken on by Legal Support Analysts
  • Manage own docket and workload for Information Disclosure Statement filings and/or annuity and maintenance fee payments
  • Communicates with clients and vendors directly with minimal oversight
  • Collaborate with the Legal Support Analyst Supervisor on the professional development of Legal Support Analysts
  • Ensure timely and efficient workflow of docketed and/or attorney requested items.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of patent rules and regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Patent Prosecution process as well as U.S. Patent Prosecution docketing knowledge.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Patent Prosecution process as well as U.S. Patent Prosecution docketing knowledge.
  • Must have strong knowledge of IP docketing systems and forms generation systems.
  • Proficiency in navigating some or all of the following PTO platforms: Patent Center, EFS, PAIR, EPAS, WIPO, and PTO Financial Supervisor.
  • Familiarity with Foreign Patent Prosecution timelines.
  • Exemplary client service skills, with the ability to interact with various departments, all levels of firm executive personnel, vendors and contractors.
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate openly and honestly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and within the team.
  • Multitask in a highly demanding, deadline-driven environment.
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical and spelling errors.
  • Ability to type standard correspondence, memoranda and similar material in draft or final form from written material or dictation.
  • Maintain and handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

Reporting to the Legal Support Analyst Supervisor, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and has shown expertise in assigned tasks.

The anticipated range for this position is:

$76,000 - $107,500

Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
