Job description

Nurse Practitioner, Per Diem (Every other Saturday)
We are currently recruiting for a Per Diem NursePractitioner to provide medical/clinical services to Residents of ourApartments and Cluster Homes at the Out-Patient Clinic and conducting rounds onour Nursing Units.
Responsibilities include:
Offeringmedical/clinical services on Saturdays, Holidays and weekdays as needed.
Providing Saturday Clinic hours from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Residents inApartments and Cluster Homes for urgent medical needs and follow-up visits. NewEmployee physicals and PPDs are also provided in the Clinic on Saturdays.
Problem-solving with Residents who have medical concerns, including callingoutside physicians or their coverage on the Resident's behalf, if needed.
Facilitating diagnostics and prescriptions thatare needed over the weekend.
Responding to urgent and emergency needs in the Skilled Nursing Center.
Making rounds from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. to each Nursing Center unit to assessindividual Residents who have urgent medical needs and ordering diagnosticstudies and treatments. If new treatments are initiated, communicating withprimary care physicians as needed.
Meeting with families and/or phoning families when changes in medical statusarise over the weekend.
Providing medical and nursing consultation to the Nursing Supervisor andnursing staff.
Arranging temporary stays at the Nursing Center for Residents who develop anurgent need. This is done in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner licensed in advanced practice by the MA Board ofRegistration of Nursing and credentialed by the American Nurses CredentialingCenter
Master's degree with education and training in Geriatrics
3 years of NP experience including one year in a geriatric setting
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
This is a per diem, or as needed position. We are looking forsomeone to cover two Saturdays/month and possible holiday and vacation coverageif available.
