Location: Chicago, IL – River West area

Assignment Type: Contract (3–6 Months)

Pay: $40–$50/hour

Work Schedule: 100% Onsite, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Our client is a well-established commercial real estate firm. They are seeking an experienced Interim Operations Manager to provide leadership and operational support during an executive transition. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who enjoys improving processes, keeping teams organized, and ensuring day-to-day business operations run efficiently.

 

Job Description:

Addison Group is partnering with our client to identify an experienced Interim Operations Manager to oversee daily business operations during a temporary leadership transition. This individual will serve as a key resource across the organization, working closely with executive leadership while managing administrative, financial, HR, and office operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and thrives in fast-paced environments where attention to detail and strong follow-through are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily office and business operations to ensure efficiency across the organization.
  • Coordinate payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting, and other administrative functions.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including IT, payroll, accounting, insurance, and building management.
  • Oversee office facilities, supplies, equipment, and workplace operations.
  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and HR-related processes.
  • Coordinate recruiting logistics and internship administration.
  • Monitor operational projects, timelines, and recurring business deadlines.
  • Create, maintain, and improve operational procedures and documentation.
  • Organize leadership meetings, prepare agendas, and track action items.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial administration, and operational spending.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal operational support across the business.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, office management, business operations, or a similar leadership role.
  • Prior experience within commercial real estate or another professional services environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing vendors and coordinating business operations.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong financial and administrative skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working directly with executive leadership and handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Professional, resourceful, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
