About the Job
 


The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs to hire employees on a temporary and/ or casual basis through the year. These positions perform a variety of non-academic and/or academic work responsibilities in a temporary or casual work schedule.
Temporary: Limited to 67 or fewer days of work in a calendar year.
Casual: Limited to working 14 or fewer hours per week; are not limited to 67 days of work in a calendar year.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
o   Data analysis, testing, and documentation
o   Developing, modifying, and running data analysis
o   Management and supervision duties
o   Software development
o   Performing research, meetings, and presentations
This does not constitute a posting for vacancies but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2025-2026 fiscal year (July 2025 - June 2026). Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance.
H-1B sponsorship may be provided to those who currently hold a valid visa and are present in the United States.

Qualifications
 

Required: Educational, certification, and work experience requirements are based on, and cannot exceed, the qualifications for work performed in comparable UMN job classifications.

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $15.25 - $25.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
