Job description

Job Title: Lead Network Infrastructure & OSS Data Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Network Infrastructure & OSS Data Architect to serve as the definitive technical authority for our telecommunications and IP network digital modeling. This is a high-stakes, senior-level role where you will own the integrity of our network inventory-the "source of truth" for our global telecommunications and IP infrastructure.
You will act as the principal gatekeeper for all network engineering and design submissions, ensuring every connection, circuit, device, and location is accurately mapped, synchronized, and compliant with enterprise engineering standards. You are the bridge between the technical engineering staff and the Operations Support System (OSS) platform-driving automation, enforcing data governance, and setting the strategic design standards that allow our network to scale.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Governance & Data Integrity
• Gatekeeper Authority: Oversee the validation of complex engineering and design submissions, enforcing rigorous data quality standards and ensuring compliance with enterprise technical playbooks.
• Network Modeling Lifecycle: Define and manage the end-to-end lifecycle for network data, from initial planning and drafting through decommissioning. Ensure that all physical/logical asset relationships are correctly modeled in the central OSS.
• Process Standardization: Develop, document, and enforce design standards that dictate how network elements are captured, tracked, and synchronized across our integrated infrastructure ecosystem.
OSS Platform Leadership & Technical Strategy
• OSS Systems Ownership: Act as the subject matter expert for the design, configuration, and optimization of enterprise-grade network inventory and discovery platforms.
• Discovery & Reconciliation: Architect strategies to bridge gaps between automated discovery tools and manual engineering inputs, ensuring high-fidelity data reconciliation.
• Strategic Optimization: Identify systemic process bottlenecks. Lead initiatives to modernize how we manage Configuration Items (CIs), optimize CI modeling, and improve the performance of our OSS reporting and analytic capabilities.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Mentorship
• Engineering Partnership: Partner directly with network engineers, systems architects, and infrastructure project teams to translate complex telecom requirements into reliable digital designs.
• Technical Mentorship: Lead the upskilling of junior engineering and design staff. Drive a culture of technical excellence, providing guidance on best practices, modeling standards, and systems troubleshooting.
• Strategic Advisor: Act as the technical face of the OSS team to business and engineering leadership, providing data-driven insights into system health, capacity, and infrastructure readiness.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in telecommunications/network engineering, Operations Support Systems (OSS) administration, or large-scale network operations.
• Technical Mastery:
oExpert-level understanding of IP/MPLS, Ethernet, and Optical Transport (SONET/DWDM) technologies.
oHands-on experience architecting or managing enterprise OSS/Network Inventory platforms (e.g., Ericsson, Nokia, Oracle, Bentley, or similar industry-standard inventory/modeling suites).
oDeep, practical knowledge of Configuration Management, Automated Discovery, and ITIL practices.
• Leadership: Proven ability to influence senior engineering teams, set enterprise-level technical standards, and drive process improvements across complex environments.
Preferred Attributes
• Extensive experience working within regulated industries, energy sectors, or mission-critical utility infrastructure environments.
• Proven success moving an organization from manual design methods to automated, data-governed digital modeling frameworks.
