TEMPORARY OUTREACH COORDINATOR (PART-TIME)
SUMMER SEARCH, BOSTON
At Summer Search, we believe in 'No Ceilings' and envision a world in which young people, regardless of circumstances, can chart their own destiny. In the United States, students from underserved communities - disproportionately BIPOC and first-generation - face systemic inequities in school, in the workforce, and in life. Nevertheless, these young people possess unique strengths, resilience, and limitless potential.
Since 1990, Summer Search has partnered with young people during their transition from adolescence into adulthood by connecting them to expansive opportunities, professional mentoring, and a community of support. Summer Searchers recognize their potential and build a toolkit to navigate and challenge systemic barriers, break new ground for their families and communities, and achieve economic equity and a life of purpose.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Temporary Outreach Coordinator will provide crucial support to achieving Summer Search Boston's student recruitment goal to recruit 185+ high school sophomores who will become the next cohort of Summer Search Boston participants. This position reports to the Outreach Manager.
TERM DETAILS:
  • Length of term: This hire will start Sept 14, 2026. The role will end on or before December 18, 2026.
  • Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/ week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Temporary Outreach Coordinator will provide essential support to our Boston Outreach team to ensure a smooth and strategic student recruitment season. • Monitor the scheduling and completion of school-based presentations and events across key partner sites.
  • Track outreach deliverables and follow up on pending logistics to ensure timely completion.

Outreach Presentation and Event Support
  • Attend and support delivery of in-school and virtual recruitment presentations to prospective students at schools, and community centers.
  • Assist in facilitating or staffing key student recruitment events (application workshops).
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Manager to support organization systems and project plans.
  • Track presentation attendance, nominations, applications, and other outreach metrics.

Special Projects & Public Speaking Assessment
  • Contribute to projects that enhance recruitment strategy or visibility in the Boston area.
  • Marketing - creating unique Summer Search recruitment materials for increased brand visibility and collateral for our Referral Partners
