Description
The Village School of Naples is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Middle and Upper School Substitute Teachers to support our dynamic classrooms. This is your opportunity to make a difference during students' formative years, guiding them academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Middle/Upper School Substitute Teacher is responsible for supervising the education of students in his/her classroom as assigned, in Sixth through Twelfth Grades. This is a temporary position on an on-call and as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver lessons following existing plans for grades 6-12.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Support students' academic progress and social-emotional development.
  • Communicate effectively with faculty and staff about classroom activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have at least a four year degree, preferably in education and in the area to be taught.
  • Teachers must demonstrate a strong support for the stated learning philosophy of The Village School. Understanding of 21st century classroom practices and interdisciplinary connections is required.
  • Spoken and written language skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional.
  • Technology skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional. Technology skills are required to both teach students in the classroom, as well as to maintain records and communications.
  • Teachers must be able to articulate their faith and support the school's Christian environment.
  • Physically, the position of teacher requires sitting, walking, and standing.
