Job description

Coil and Core Assembler  
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a detailoriented and skilled Core and Coil Assembler to build transformer cores, assemble and install coils, interpret engineering drawings, perform quality checks, and operate tools and lifting equipment while maintaining a safe, organized workspace. This position is located in the area of Tomball, TX. 

Pay Rate  
$19.00 - 20.00 per hour 

Schedule and Hours  
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Coil and Core Assembler Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Arrange, align, and secure laminated steel sheets according to core design specifications to create structurally sound and magnetically efficient transformer cores.
  • Build coil assemblies by installing insulation layers, positioning spacers, routing leads, and ensuring all components meet electrical and mechanical requirements.
  • Position completed coils onto the core assembly with precision, verifying correct fit, alignment, and required air gaps to support optimal performance.
  • Understand technical documentation to determine assembly sequences, component placement, tolerances, and required materials.
  • Check completed coreandcoil assemblies for proper measurements, alignment, insulation integrity, and adherence to quality standards before final processing.
  • Use mechanical tools and lifting equipment to handle components and perform assembly tasks while following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with 5S and safety standards

Coil and Core Assembler Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous winding or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work with imperial measurements
  • Good manual dexterity with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Must wear required PPE at all times — safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots
