Job description

Lab Technician (temp role)

Location: 100% on-site Malvern, PA (HQ)
Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 am to 4:30 pm
Status: Temp, W2 Contract under staffing supplier for 6 months (possible extension according to performance).
Pay rate: 23$ - 28$ per hour
Core Role: Safely perform advanced technical testing and data analysis on interior product raw materials (gypsum, insulation, ceilings) to support R&D, plant operations, and cost-reduction efforts.

Key Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma + 3–4 years of chemical lab experience required (associate degree in a scientific field preferred).

  • Experience: Prior chemical lab experience, co-ops, or internships preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Comfortable using power tools/machinery; basic understanding of statistical tools, data analysis, and interpretation (e.g., Excel).

  • Safety & Compliance: Demonstrated basic knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and company policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • R&D & Project Support: Assist engineers and scientists by conducting hands-on experiments, processing material samples, and testing products according to SOPs (ASTM, UL, or company methods).

  • Data & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data; maintain accurate lab notebooks and write concise technical summary reports.

  • Lab Management: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; manage inventory, perform 5S duties, and prepare for lab audits.

  • Safety Leadership: Continuously evaluate the workplace for hazards and actively participate in behavioral safety initiatives.
