Job description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Temporary Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Cardiology Center of Houston in Katy, TXย 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner.
  • May perform patient check-in and/or check-out duties, including verifying insurance and updating demographic information.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider schedules.
  • Answer phones promptly and route calls appropriately.
  • Collect co-pays and outstanding balances, post payments accurately in the system.
  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and referrals as required.
  • Communicate effectively with medical assistants, technicians, and providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and filing documents.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of medical office or front desk experience (cardiology or specialty office preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and referral processes.
  • Proficient in eClinicalWorks preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
