Temporary Medical Scribe - Per Diem

UHP's best-in-class clinical program covers three sub-specialties (urology, gastroenterology, and radiation oncology) and offers numerous ancillary services, including pathology lab, in-office dispensing, and chronic care management. UHP is currently affiliated with 68 providers consisting of 49 physicians and 19 advanced practice providers operating out of 21 locations in the greater Los Angeles and San Diego areas.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Medical Scribe performs all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a specialty clinic setting, including primary responsibility for the operation of electronic health records and electronic dictation systems. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician.
This is a Per Diem Temporary position, that requires flexibility, through the remainder of 2026 working all day Mondays, Wednesday mornings and any other day as needed
What you will be doing
  • Accompany physician into the patient examination room to transcribe a history and physical exam and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present
  • Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
  • Transcribes patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  • Documents any procedures performed by the physician
  • Provides feedback about any data entry errors and reviewing records using accurate spelling, correct grammar, and completeness before they are sent to the Doctor for review and signing
  • Responsible for keeping the physician moving in the office during clinic hours

What you will bring to the team
  • 6 months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Medical terminology
  • Recognition of the physical exam process and ability to record exam details
  • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications

Compensation is depending on a number of factors including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, or experience that may fall outside of the range shown
Pay Range: $23 per hour
