Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting warehouse and distribution operations including shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment activities. This role ensures materials and products are accurately processed and delivered while maintaining quality, safety, and inventory standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, and process materials for storage and shipment according to established procedures.
  • Receive incoming materials and finished goods, verifying accuracy and documentation such as packing lists.
  • Store inventory properly and ensure timely order fulfillment to meet customer requirements.
  • Safely operate warehouse and distribution equipment, including powered industrial trucks.
  • Work in multiple temperature-controlled environments including room temperature, cold rooms, and freezer rooms.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards, quality policies, and safety procedures.
  • Support inventory control and shipping activities using ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while adhering to workplace safety standards.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and complete required training documentation.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or related experience preferred.
  • Warehouse environment with exposure to room temperature, cold-room, and freezer-room conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Moderate to high noise levels in the work environment.
  • May handle packaged hazardous materials.
  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks and working at various equipment heights preferred.
  • Basic computer skills including ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures independently.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed.
