The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Outpatient Pharmacist Intern - Year Two to join our Pharmacy team!

WORK SCHEDULE

Per Diem

Rotating/Variable Shifts

Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy year two.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Pharmacist Intern independently performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products.

The Pharmacist Intern performs all duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform certified order entry of medication orders into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system.

Fill prescriptions, under direction of a licensed Pharmacist.

Utilize ScriptPro Central for filling, labeling, and batching.

Assist with online processing of prescription orders.

Assist patients with new prescriptions and refills.

Determine payment method and assist patients with alternate sources of payment.

Perform charging and billing functions.

Assist in preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.

Refer clinical inquiries requiring a Pharmacist's professional judgment.

Assist with Patient counseling

Discharge medication bedside delivery

Prescription transfers

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy year two.

LEGAL REQUIREMENT

Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
