Job description

Albertsons is looking for candidates to fill potential temporary roles in the event of a labor strike.   If these roles are needed, shifts and hours will vary.

Job Overview:

At this time, we are creating a pool of interested candidates to work as temporary strike replacement workers.  In the event of a labor strike, confirmed candidates will be extended an offer and hired into this temporary role that will remain active during the strike period only.

We are seeking reliable and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Temporary Grocery Store Associates if a labor strike occurs.  In this role, you will help maintain store operations and ensure a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Greet customers and assist with locating products.
  • Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately.
  • Bag groceries and assist with carry-outs as needed.
  • Address customer inquiries and escalate issues to supervisors.

Stocking & Merchandising

  • Restock shelves and maintain product displays.
  • Ensure items are properly labeled and priced.
  • Rotate stock and remove expired or damaged items.
  • Cleanliness & Safety
  • Maintain cleanliness of aisles, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Sanitize carts, baskets, and checkout stations.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene protocols.

Departmental Support (as assigned)

  • Assist in Produce, Deli, Bakery, Meat, or Dairy departments.
  • Perform basic food prep, packaging, and stocking duties.

Experience and Qualifications*:

  • Previous retail or grocery experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
