Job description

Senior Managers, Software Engineering Full Stack is located in Bethesda, MD will build, develop, and support a team of full stack engineers, focused on creating, deploying, managing, and supporting a full stack end to end solution.
• Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work closely with product teams across multiple initiatives to design solutions as per business requirements.
  • Foster the career growth of the team by seeking challenging, impactful work for all members based on their skills and interests.
  • Provide technical guidance where needed.
  • Track technical debt and advocate for its retirement.
  • Provide support for the engineering team by removing roadblocks and ensuring the team has everything they need to deliver high quality software quickly.
  • Provide high level estimates and designs to the product team for sprint planning.
  • Ensure consistency in coding standards and guidelines used by all members in the team.
  • Identify the right candidates for the team and work with recruiting partners to bring them on board.
  • Actively work to engage and retain engineers and establish the right mix of talent and experience on the team.
  • Engage in team member development, coaching and performance management.
  • Proactively ask for feedback and continue to develop as a manager and leader.
  • Responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Minimum requirements:
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or related, and 7 years of relevant work experience.
Skills requirements: Requires experience in each of the following:
1. Building high-performance solutions with Python and its frameworks: Django and Flask, along with deploying it to cloud platforms AWS and Google Cloud Platform;
2. Developing backend and frontend applications using Python, JavaScript, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, Kotlin and Java programming languages;
3. Working with relational databases: PostgreSQL and MySQL to manage and analyze structured data, as well as using NoSQL databases: MongoDB, DynamoDB and Elasticsearch to handle large volumes of data, frequent changes, and fast queries;
4. Designing, developing and releasing highly optimized native iOS and Android applications built using Xcode and Android Studio;
5. Architecting and developing Angular and AngularJS frontend applications using: Angular CLI, TypeScript, Angular Material, ESLint, Karma and Jasmine;
6. Leading cross functional teams and managing onsite and offshore resources in global locations and extensive experience in using Git, Gitlab CI, Jira, Confluence, Jira Dashboards, Jira Plan and Jira Automations.
