Job Title: Junior Java Developer (Hybrid)
Position Type: Full-Time, 6 months contract to hire
Pay: $22.50/hour
Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Position Overview
We are seeking multiple Junior Java Developers to join a collaborative engineering team supporting scalable, secure enterprise systems. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers or recent graduates with strong Java fundamentals who are eager to learn, grow, and be mentored by experienced professionals.
Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, a solid technical foundation in Java development, and the ability to quickly learn and contribute in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
  • Support the development of scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using modern frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and product stakeholders in an Agile environment.
  • Contribute to secure, high-performing systems supporting enterprise platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and technical problem-solving activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.

Requirements
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Java programming.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a mentored environment.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals (object-oriented programming, APIs, debugging).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Spring Boot, microservices architecture, or REST API development.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, PCF, or similar).
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD concepts.
  • Database knowledge (SQL or NoSQL) strongly preferred.
  • Internship, academic projects, or personal portfolio demonstrating Java development.
