Junior Java Developer (Federal Project)

Location: Ashburn, VA (Hybrid 2 days a week onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Java Developer to join our Agile software development team supporting a U.S. Federal Government client. The successful candidate will assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise Java applications while working alongside senior engineers and architects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career software developer to gain experience with modern Java technologies, cloud environments, and Agile development practices.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional Java development experience (internships or academic projects may qualify).
  • Knowledge of Core Java and object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Basic understanding of Spring Boot or the Spring Framework.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON.
  • Basic SQL skills with databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
