We are currently seeking a Temporary Job Captain or Intermediate Designer to join our Houston studio for an anticipated 3-6 month assignment, (40 hours/week) with the potential for full-time hire upon completion of the assignment. This role will support ongoing project work focused heavily on as-built documentation, field verification, site surveys, and Revit-based production for active workplace interiors projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional who enjoys hands-on project involvement, working directly in the field, and contributing to the documentation and execution of fast-paced interior environments.
Key Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of a Senior Job Captain, Architect, or Project Manager, the Temporary Job Captain will:
  • Produce and coordinate accurate construction documents and as-built drawings in Revit
  • Conduct on-site field surveys, site verification, and existing conditions documentation for active projects
  • Translate field conditions into detailed Revit models and drawing sets
  • Support project teams through design development, technical documentation, and contract administration phases
  • Review drawing sets for compliance with firm standards, building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
  • Coordinate with consultants and internal project teams to support timely document delivery
  • Assist with project-related site visits and field coordination as needed
  • Provide technical problem-solving and documentation support across multiple concurrent projects
  • Collaborate closely with senior technical and design staff to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables

Qualifications
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 3-5+ years of professional experience on corporate interiors or workplace projects
  • Strong experience producing construction documents and as-built documentation
  • Proven experience conducting field surveys and documenting existing conditions
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit required
  • Experience working on-site and coordinating directly with project teams and consultants

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation and detailing standards
  • Working knowledge of building systems, codes, and ADA requirements
  • Excellent technical documentation and field observation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Enscape experience preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and design teams
