At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for a passionate Mental Health Promotion Coordinator to join our Mental Health Services.

About the Opportunity

As the Mental Health Promotion Coordinator, you will play a key role in raising awareness about mental health and promoting positive wellbeing across the Central Coast community. Working collaboratively with health professionals, community organisations, and stakeholders, you will lead innovative health promotion initiatives that support better mental health outcomes and reduce stigma.

This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating mental health promotion programs and projects using a range of evidence-based strategies. In this role you will:

  • Develop and deliver community-focused mental health promotion and education initiatives aligned with National, State, and local priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, community groups, consumers, carers, and service providers to strengthen mental health literacy and engagement.
  • Coordinate and implement social media campaigns and communication strategies that promote awareness and positive mental health outcomes.
  • Provide advice, support, and consultation to staff and community partners undertaking mental health promotion activities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on program outcomes, ensuring activities are evidence-based, effective, and responsive to community needs.
  • Represent the Mental Health Service at relevant committees, working groups, and community forums as required.

For more information about this role, please view the Position Description.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health, social science, education, or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience in health promotion programs/projects, as well as a current valid Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and mental health promotion principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs or projects within set timeframes.
  • Advanced skills in social media platforms and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to build strong partnerships across multidisciplinary teams and community organisations.

Applicants must have current work rights in Australia or be a permanent resident or citizen. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applicants who do not meet this requirement.

Benefits

  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy an accrued day off each month, 17.5% annual leave loading, and paid parental leave.
  • Financial Benefits: Boost your take-home pay with salary packaging, save on car costs with novated leasing, and access relocation assistance.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Stay active with discounted gym memberships (Fitness Passport), free flu vaccinations, telehealth support, and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselling for you and your family. Plus, access discounted private health insurance.
  • Career Growth: Advance your career with free professional development courses and secondment opportunities.
