Job Title: Information Systems Auditor

Location: Springfield, IL (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract


Position Overview

The State of Illinois is seeking a qualified Information Systems Auditor to perform information technology (IT) audits, information system reviews, and evaluations of related controls in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other generally accepted IT standards. The auditor will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining Office of Internal Audit (OIA) workpapers and ensuring compliance with OIA procedures.

Responsibilities:

·        Conduct IT audits, information system reviews, and control evaluations following NIST or other widely recognized IT standards.

·        Review IT processes, applications, and systems to assess compliance, security, and operational efficiency.

·        Identify and document control weaknesses, risks, and recommendations for corrective action.

·        Prepare and maintain detailed OIA audit/review workpapers in accordance with established OIA procedures.

·        Ensure audit documentation supports conclusions and meets professional auditing standards.

·        Communicate findings and recommendations to OIA management and relevant stakeholders.

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

·        Minimum 3–5 years conducting IT audits, information system reviews, and evaluating related controls.

·        Proficiency in applying NIST or other generally accepted IT audit standards.

·        Strong understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance principles.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Proficiency in documenting and maintaining audit workpapers.

·        CISA, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications preferred.


Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a CJIS background check and drug screening.
  • Must be willing to travel for site visits and audit procedures.
