Job description

Senior Avionics Systems Engineer (DAD)

Location: United States (multiple locations)

Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Schedule: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Current DAD/DAR status or ability to qualify for DAD/DAR designation preferred (Transport Canada AWM 505 Delegation of Authority)
  • Experience working with Transport Canada (TCCA), EASA, and/or FAA
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 25 avionics regulations and certification requirements
  • Knowledge of RTCA, ARP, and other applicable avionics certification standards
  • Extensive experience with aircraft avionics system design, testing, integration, and certification
  • Experience with:
    • Auto Flight Control Systems (AFCS)
    • Communication systems (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink)
    • Navigation systems (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar)
    • Display systems (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS)
    • Information, maintenance, and recording systems (IMS, OMS, Data Load, CVR, FDR, AHMS)
  • Experience managing system and subsystem requirements for certification and airworthiness compliance
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams
  • Experience supporting certification testing, inspections, audits, and compliance reporting
  • Experience developing certification plans and working with regulatory authorities
  • Experience supporting production, final assembly, and in-service aircraft issues
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA)
  • Familiarity with:
    • DO-178
    • DO-160
    • DO-254
    • ARP4754
    • ARP4761
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel
