The University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a full time Field Supervisor/Project Manager to work in Coral Gables, FL.


The National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS) Field Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Miami-Dade field sites for (National HIV Behavioral Surveillance) NHBS data collection activities. Field Supervisor responsibilities include: overseeing project procedures; managing the Miami-Dade field site staff and activities; driving project vehicle to and from project field sites; overseeing data collection procedures; and assuring data quality. The Field Supervisor will be available, if necessary, outside of normal working hours.
Core responsibilities:

  • Aids in the evaluation of problems with workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate analytical approaches.
  • Maintains multiple protocol books and chronicles manuscript preparation.
  • Performs analyses of computerized datasets using standard packages to import, update, and manipulate datasets.
  • Presents studies' results at professional scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Writes manuscripts and journal articles for peer-reviewed medical journals.
  • Ensures that research program objectives are communicated, met, and results are documented.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required. Relevant experience with data collection and/or outreach among target population preferred.

  • Valid Florida Driver's License required; Florida DOH HIV Counseling Certification preferred.
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.
