Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position will be as follows:
  • Build our LinkedIn alumni network.
  • Curriculum analysis in preparation for our course renumbering process
  • Event planning and support for the upcoming Barbosa symposium (9/14/26) and Culture Crawl (9/30/26).

Who We Are

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Develop process documentation for continuing LinkedIn updates for other departmental users
  • Analyze and group our current curriculum in terms of chronological setting, geographical setting, and content in advance of our large course re-numbering project which will support our new departmental major requirements, simplifying our numbering system so it makes more sense and is easier for students to parse. Prepare packets for individual faculty to evaluate courses in their areas of expertise to establish appropriate geographical, chronological, and numerical placement. Adapt spreadsheet of active and inactive courses for entry and tracking purposes. Identify existing and potential future candidates for diversity requirement applications.
  • Help plan and support the Francisco Barbosa Memorial Symposium on 9/18/26. This will include scheduling locations, coordinating guests, planning catering, marketing, and merchandising. Will include day-of support for hosting and operations.
  • Help plan and support the History Department segment of Norlin Library's annual "Culture Crawl" event (see https://libraries.colorado.edu/culture-crawl) on 9/30/26. This will involve scheduling location, coordinating activities, soliciting student assistance and information. Will include day-of support for hosting and operations.
  • Invite History alumni (BA, MA, & PhDs) to follow our LinkedIn site and populate the site with regular posts. Develop a proposal for how the Department might initiate a program connecting alumni with current students for informational interviews, virtual or in-person events, or internships.

This is a hybrid, temporary position.
What We Can Offer
The hourly pay range for this temporary position is $25-$30.
