Job description

We are seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator to safely and efficiently operate a 1996 motor grader on construction and road maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have experience grading roads, preparing surfaces, maintaining drainage, and performing finish grading while adhering to all safety standards and project specifications.

Location: Alice, TX
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)

Responsibilities

  • Operate a motor grader to perform rough and finish grading on construction projects.
  • Grade roads, parking lots, rights-of-way, and other work areas according to project specifications.
  • Establish and maintain proper drainage slopes and elevations.
  • Spread and level materials including dirt, gravel, caliche, and road base.
  • Read grade stakes, site plans, and instructions from supervisors.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintain cleanliness of the machine.
  • Work safely around underground utilities, traffic, and other construction equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating a motor grader required.
  • Experience with road construction, site preparation, or public works projects preferred.
  • Ability to perform finish grading and maintain proper elevations.
  • Knowledge of equipment safety procedures and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Required Attire

  • Work jeans or durable work pants (no rips or tears)
  • Short-sleeve or long-sleeve work shirt
  • Steel-toe boots
  • Safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and other PPE as required by the client or job site
