Job description

Pay: $31.25 – $35.31/hour

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday during core business hours
Assignment Length: Start ASAP for 6 months with the possibility of extension
Company/Position Overview: Our client, a long-standing Denver-based office furniture and space planning and design company, is seeking a temporary Designer to join their downtown Denver Office. Our client is looking for a Designer who works both independently and collaboratively with partners both inside and outside their organization. This role reports to the Design Director and will work closely with the Sales/Account Management team, and will be responsible for space planning, rendering, furniture and material selections, product specification, installation documentation, onsite field verification and electrical coordination, and quality assurance.
Job Duties:
  • Design Development
    1. Primary focus: systems furniture, private oce, meeting/conference, and collaborative spaces
    2. Generate, organize, and maintain CAD & CET drawing les
    3. Produce furniture block plans, space plans, nish pallets, CET drawings, CET renderings, and installation drawings & documents
    4. Develop systems furniture-related validation packages
    5. Support sales team with engagement of customers to gather and distill project information
  • Specication/ Quotation
    1. Complete accurate specication estimates in CET and 2020 Worksheets
    2. Validate specications with manufacturer quotes
  • Implementation
    1. Perform eld surveys and product inventories.
    2. On-site coordination of furniture-related construction requirements, including critical clearances and electrical/data needs.
    3. Lead client presentations and tours
  • Quality Assurance
    1. Assist with design proposals if project requires
    2. Assist with budgetary estimates of design hours
    3. Assist in internal specication checks
    4. Monitor, manage & communicate actual hours worked to sales team
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Some schooling/certification in Interior or Architectural Design
  • 2 + years of Designer experience
  • Requires the ability to be optimistic, collaborative, enthusiastic, and think creatively
  • Must believe in the ability of physical space to have a positive impact on the lives of others
  • Appreciation for Interior Design principles, including the use of texture, color, form, function, materiality balance, rhythm, repetition, proximity, symmetry, biophilia, cognition, and perception
  • An understanding of commercial oce furniture and materials
  • Knowledge of various furniture system products and their components
  • Ability to apply design practices as well as knowledge of building codes, regulations & ADA requirements
  • CET Designer experience required
  • Prociency in a variety of software: AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suites, and Microsoft Oce. Additionally, SketchUp and Google Applications are a plus
  • Ability to provide friendly, professional service to internal sta and clients
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong time management skills, ability to support multiple projects & teams while maintaining project schedules & deliverables
  • Ability to convey design concepts via hand drawing/sketch
  • Competent complex reading and writing skills
