Job description

The Import/Export Specialist is responsible for coordinating international shipments and ensuring compliance with global trade regulations for wireless and IoT device configuration operations. This role manages import/export documentation, customs compliance, device shipping logistics, and coordination with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal operational teams.

The specialist supports the movement of configured wireless devices, SIM-enabled equipment, accessories, and related materials across global markets while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable trade and regulatory requirements.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Import/Export Operations

โ€ข Coordinate domestic and international shipments of wireless and IoT devices, components, SIM cards, and

accessories

โ€ข Prepare and review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates

of origin, and customs declarations

โ€ข Ensure import/export compliance with U.S. and international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company

policies

โ€ข Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and warehouse partners to ensure timely shipment

delivery and customs clearance

โ€ข Monitor shipment status, proactively resolve delays, and communicate updates to internal stakeholders and

customers

โ€ข Manage Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and maintain accurate import/export records

โ€ข Support temporary imports, returns, repairs, and international device replacement logistics as needed

โ€ข Ensure proper labeling, serialization, and export documentation for configured wireless devices

Wireless Device Configuration Support

โ€ข Collaborate with Operations and Device Configuration teams to align shipping schedules with production and

customer delivery timelines

โ€ข Verify shipment accuracy for configured devices, customer-specific configurations, and serialized inventory

โ€ข Support global deployment projects and customer onboarding activities

โ€ข Coordinate international movement of test devices, demo equipment, and engineering samples

Compliance & Quality Responsibilities

โ€ข Maintain compliance with trade regulations, export controls, sanctions programs, and customs requirements

โ€ข Assist with audits related to import/export compliance, shipping records, and operational processes

โ€ข Maintain accurate documentation and records retention in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

โ€ข Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping accuracy, cost reduction, and operational efficiency

โ€ข Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for shipment discrepancies or compliance issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

โ€ขAssociateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred

โ€ข2โ€“5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, supply chain, or international shipping

โ€ขExperience supporting electronics, wireless devices, IoT hardware, or technical products preferred

โ€ขKnowledge of international shipping documentation, customs procedures, Incoterms, and HTS classifications

โ€ขFamiliarity with export compliance regulations and trade documentation requirements

โ€ขStrong organizational skills and attention to detail

โ€ขAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment

โ€ขProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications

โ€ขExperience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and global carriers

โ€ขKnowledge of wireless devices, SIM provisioning, or electronics manufacturing environments

โ€ขExperience with ERP, WMS, or logistics management systems

โ€ขCertified Customs Specialist (CCS) or related trade certification preferred

โ€ขFamiliarity with ISO quality systems or regulated operational environments
