Job description

Overview
The primary responsibility of this position entails the installation, construction, maintenance and operation of a variety of park events and attractions. Duties for this position also include providing knowledgeable hands-on theatrical techniques with comprehensive skills in special effects.
Salary Details: $26.86 / hr
Responsibilities
  • Lead small groups in the construction and installation of temporary and permanent pneumatic and electrical infrastructures in a variety of venues.
  • Assemble advanced mechanical special effect structures adhering to blueprints.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair special effects at an advanced level for events and regular park shows.
  • Translate plans and designers' concepts into practical materials and existing mechanical components (bearings, motors, air cylinders, etc.).
  • Design, layout, and lead the fabrication of moving structures using pneumatic and electrical components.
  • Test and perfect mechanical movements for durability and realism.
  • Design and construct animation control systems (timers, PLCs, relays, etc.).
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma / GED required.
  • Associate's degree / vocational or technical school degree, emphasis in Theatrical Design/visual Display preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of prior, relevant work experience preferred.
  • User of basic hand tools and power tools, glues and adhesives. Floral design helpful. Ability to sketch and convey design concepts. Basic Scenic painting skills preferred.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holiday based on business needs.
