Job Skills / Requirements
United Protective Services is seeking a dependable and observant Temporary Fire Watch Officer for an active fire watch assignment. While this is listed as a temporary position, there is currently no projected end date, so applicants should be comfortable with an assignment that may continue for an extended period.
This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a visible safety presence on site.
Schedule
Friday - Tuesday4:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Job Duties
  • Maintain a continuous fire watch presence at the assigned property
  • Conduct hourly walking patrols of the building to check for signs of smoke, fire, or other safety hazards
  • Remain alert and observant throughout the shift
  • Immediately report any fire, smoke, suspicious conditions, or emergency concerns to the appropriate parties
  • Document patrols and any notable activity as required
  • Help ensure the property remains in compliance with fire watch requirements during the duration of the assignment
Requirements
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Must be dependable and able to remain on site for the full duration of each shift
  • Must be comfortable working independently for long periods, including portions of the shift that may involve remaining stationary
  • Ability to walk the property hourly and remain attentive to surroundings
  • Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of consistency, attention to detail, and maintaining a safety-minded presence on site. Fire watch assignments require reliability and focus, and this position plays an important role in protecting the property and its occupants.
After the Fire Watch is concluded, the position can transfer into a Flex officer role, or reassignment to another fixed schedule. The available options may not match the schedule listed above.
