Job Title: Senior Finance Manager - Commercial Strategy & Operations
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to act as the primary financial and operational advisor for a high-growth division. This is a highly visible, strategic role where you will partner directly with the Business Unit Vice President to drive profitability, optimize operational processes, and quantify the return on investment for major strategic initiatives.
You will function as the "financial engine" for the business, responsible for not just reporting the numbers, but modeling the future. This role is perfect for a finance leader who enjoys deep-dive data analysis, building complex financial models for marketing programs, and redesigning business processes to eliminate inefficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Commercial Partnership
• Strategic Advisor: Serve as the key financial contact for the Business Unit leadership. Work closely with the VP to define annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-term strategic plans.
• Commercial Finance: Partner with Marketing and Sales teams to ensure project viability. Develop models to forecast the financial impact of marketing initiatives, product launches, and investment strategies.
• Performance Analysis: Lead monthly P&L reviews, providing detailed commentary on fluctuations and identifying root causes. Conduct variance analysis and quantitative assessments to explain financial performance.
Operational Excellence & Process Design
• Process Redesign: Facilitate the identification of operational bottlenecks and recommend systemic process redesigns to promote economic efficiency and effective business practices.
• Systems Integration: Bridge the gap between business process requirements and IT system capabilities. Ensure that financial reporting tools provide the visibility required for data-driven decision-making.
• Management Reporting: Develop and generate robust management reports and dashboards for executive leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable business intelligence.
Investment & ROI Analysis
• Strategic Modeling: Maintain responsibility for creating dynamic models and analytics designed to meet the evolving needs of the business.
• Investment Evaluation: Conduct rigorous ROI assessments for marketing programs and internal capital projects. Use creative, data-driven approaches (statistical analysis, quantitative/qualitative assessments) to solve complex analytical problems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
• Professional Credentials: CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of six (6) years of related business, accounting, or finance experience.
• Analytical Mastery: Proven ability to use diverse modeling techniques to achieve consistent, reliable results. Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Systems Fluency: Comprehensive knowledge of business operations, financial accounting, and modern ERP/IT systems.
Preferred Attributes
• Proven ability to develop creative solutions to complex analytical problems using databases, statistical packages, and visual reporting tools.
• Strong executive presence-you must be comfortable presenting to and influencing senior leadership.
• Experience in high-paced commercial environments where data-driven marketing and capital investment analysis are central to growth.
