Job description

Job Title: Engineering Technician (Precision Manufacturing & Quality)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician to support our precision manufacturing and quality operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between design and production by creating technical models, performing advanced part inspections, and optimizing manufacturing workflows. You will be responsible for the accuracy of tools and fixtures, performing detailed First Article Inspections (FAI), and supporting root cause investigations to ensure the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in GD&T and 3D CAD, capable of working independently to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Modeling: Create and update detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings to support manufacturing and tool design.
• Metrology & Inspection: Scan and evaluate precision parts for accuracy using advanced measurement tools. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) to validate new production runs.
• Tooling Support: Calibrate critical tools and fixtures; assist in the design, manufacture, and formal documentation of specialized production tooling.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, support root cause investigations, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Process Documentation: Develop clear work instructions and technical specifications to standardize production and assembly processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all activities adhere to strict industry safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Technical school diploma or Associate degree in a relevant engineering technology field.
• Technical Mastery:
oProficiency in 3D CAD (NX, KeyCreator, or SolidWorks preferred).
oStrong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and machining processes.
• Preferred Experience:
oExperience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and EDM processes.
oFamiliarity with 3D scanning and evaluation software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Geomagic).
• Core Skills:
oExcellent organizational and computer skills.
oAbility to follow complex verbal and written instructions in English.
oStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and team settings.
