Job description

This is a contract position providing services to Nestlé R&D through a third-party staffing services organization. If you are selected for this role, you will be an employee of a third-party staffing partner and not Nestlé R&D.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Contract Sensory Panelist is responsible for objectively evaluating food products for appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture, with a requirement for strong sensory acuity and the ability to consistently apply standardized tasting methods.
Please note: This is a temporary external worker position, and hires will be employed by a third-party staffing company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Engage in team discussions and activities to objectively describe food products
• Taste and objectively assess food samples from an appearance, aroma, flavor, and texture standpoint
• Enter data in computer system
• Work schedule is fixed 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesdays through Thursdays. Breaks will be provided to avoid tasting fatigue.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Knowledge):Ability to safely and effectively taste a wide variety of food products
• Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate taste attributes of food products, including identifying subtle flavor differences and documenting observations using standardized methods,
• Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate aromas and scents of food products, including identifying subtle differences and documenting observations using standardized methods.
• Ability to accurately evaluate texture and visual characteristics of food products, including consistency, structure, and appearance, and to document observations using standardized methods.
• Ability to accurately detect, distinguish, and evaluate colors and their variations in food products, including identifying subtle differences in hue, intensity, and consistency, and documenting observations using standardized methods.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete routine tasks quickly and accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively, in English, sufficient to participate in group discussions and engage in written communication
• Enthusiasm and ability to participate effectively in group discussions, achieve consensus, and collaborate with group members
• Basic computer skills, including email and data entry
• No prior experience as a taster is required as training will be provided
