Temporary Expensify Data Entry Jobs in Portland, OR

This is a 90-day temp-to-hire opportunity in a pre-printing production facility, focused on general labor, ink mixing, and quality inspection. You start on a weekday day shift for training and may later rotate to other shifts as needed. The role involves hands-on work with inks, printing equipment, and computer-based quality checks, requiring strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to meet physical demands.

• Perform general labor tasks within a pre-printing facility, supporting daily production operations.
• Mix and pour inks according to specifications, using basic math (including simple multiplication) to achieve correct formulas.
• Carry out assigned passover duties to ensure smooth shift transitions and continuous workflow.
• Conduct quality checks on printed materials and ink colors to ensure they meet established standards.
• Use computers to perform color and quality checks, entering data accurately and consistently.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop environment through regular housekeeping and equipment care.
• Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Follow safety guidelines while working around large printing presses and at heights when required.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail in all aspects of production, from ink mixing to final inspection.
• Communicate clearly in English, reading and following written instructions and production documentation.
• Support production goals by working efficiently, maintaining good attendance, and adapting to rotating shifts as needed.

• Previous production experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail in handling inks, operating equipment, and performing quality checks.
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts after the initial training period.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working at heights when needed.
• Basic math skills, including simple multiplication for ink mixing and measurement calculations.
• Ability to perform basic data entry and use computers for color checks and quality documentation.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow instructions, safety guidelines, and production records.
• Consistent, reliable attendance throughout the 90-day temp-to-hire period.

• Forklift experience in a production, warehouse, or industrial setting.
• Backgrounds in production, construction, warehousing, general labor, or auto mechanics.
• Industrial work experience in environments with machinery and physical labor.
• Quality inspection experience, particularly in manufacturing or printing operations.
• General computer skills, including data entry and basic software use.
• Comfort working in warm conditions and around large industrial equipment.

The work takes place in a very clean and organized pre-printing facility featuring large printing presses that can reach 30–40 feet in height. Some tasks may require working from heights and operating around substantial machinery. The environment can become very warm during summer months, and the work is hands-on, with exposure to inks and related materials. Employees should be comfortable getting dirty, including ink spills on uniforms and boots. The initial training shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the possibility of moving to a swing or rotating shift after training. Appropriate work attire should be durable and suitable for an industrial setting where inks and other materials are handled regularly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillsboro, OR.

The pay range for this position is $24.39 - $24.39/hr.
