Job Title: Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Coordinator to lead our facility's environmental stewardship program. You will be the primary on-site expert responsible for ensuring our operations meet or exceed all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
This is an "all-encompassing" role for an environmental professional who is comfortable both in the office and on the factory floor. You will manage complex permitting, oversee emissions and waste reporting, and drive our internal sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance
• Permit & Reporting Management: Maintain the master environmental compliance calendar. Coordinate all necessary permits, ensure timely submission of regulatory reports, and oversee compliance for air, water, and hazardous waste streams.
• Liaison Function: Act as the primary point of contact for internal management and external regulatory agencies. Ensure all facility operations remain fully aligned with our corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) strategy.
• Audit & Inspection: Lead internal environmental audits and facility inspections. Identify potential gaps and manage corrective action plans to ensure 100% compliance.
Sustainability & Data Strategy
• Performance Management: Oversee site environmental data management. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide management with actionable insights on facility performance.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Lead site-level sustainability projects that align with corporate objectives. Oversee the reporting of sustainability data, supporting our commitment to business transparency and customer expectations.
• Training & Culture: Develop and deliver site-specific environmental training programs to ensure all personnel are aware of and compliant with local, state, and federal standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: 3-5+ years of experience in an environmental compliance role, specifically within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of environmental regulations related to air emissions, hazardous waste, water discharges, and chemical reporting.
Preferred Attributes
• Proven ability to manage complex data sets and translate them into meaningful reports for executive leadership.
• Strong "Project Management" skills-you are capable of managing multiple permit renewals and regulatory projects simultaneously without missing deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills-you can simplify complex regulatory requirements for the facility team.
