About This Opportunity
Superior Rigging & Erecting is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to develop new business, expand customer relationships, and support continued growth throughout the Central Florida market.
This position is responsible for identifying project opportunities, developing client relationships, supporting project planning efforts, and positioning Superior Rigging & Erecting as the preferred provider for crane, rigging, steel erection, heavy hauling, and specialty construction services.
This is not a transactional sales role. Success requires the ability to understand customer needs, collaborate with operations and estimating teams, and develop practical solutions for complex construction and industrial projects.
Primary Focus Areas
Business Development Construction Sales Strategy Project Scoping and Estimating Support Market Expansion Revenue Growth Cross-Functional Coordination
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with regional growth objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities across industrial, commercial, and specialty construction markets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed established revenue and profitability goals.
  • Expand relationships with existing customers while developing new accounts.

Client Relationship Management
  • Build relationships with general contractors, plant managers, project managers, engineers, procurement professionals, and project owners.
  • Conduct client visits, jobsite walkdowns, networking events, and industry meetings.
  • Develop long-term partnerships that generate repeat business.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Scoping & Solution Development
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Engineering, and Operations to develop project solutions.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to support project planning.
  • Assist in developing cranes, rigging, heavy haul, and specialty construction solutions.
  • Ensure proposed work aligns with company capabilities, safety requirements, and operational resources.

Proposal Development & Contract Negotiation
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotations, bids, and service agreements.
  • Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms while maintaining profitability objectives.
  • Support project award and contract execution processes.
  • Ensure accurate communication of project requirements during turnover to Operations.

Market Development & Strategy
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and upcoming project opportunities.
  • Identify emerging industries, customers, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to leadership.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives throughout Florida and the Southeast.

Internal Coordination
  • Partner with Operations, Estimating, Engineering, and Project Management teams to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain alignment regarding project scope, schedule, and customer expectations.
  • Assist with issue resolution to support customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.

What Success Looks Like
  • Consistently develops and maintains a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Establishes strong relationships with contractors, industrial facilities, and project stakeholders.
  • Meets or exceeds sales and profitability objectives.
  • Successfully transitions awarded work to Operations and Project Management teams.
  • Generates repeat business through responsiveness, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Contributes to market growth and expanded customer relationships throughout Central Florida.

Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of sales, business development, or account management experience within construction, industrial services, equipment rental, specialty contracting, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of generating new business and achieving revenue goals.
  • Strong understanding of construction project lifecycles and customer relationship management.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally to customers and project sites.

Preferred
  • Experience selling crane services, rigging services, steel erection, heavy haul transportation, industrial services, specialty construction, or related solutions.
  • Experience working with general contractors, industrial facilities, manufacturing operations, or large construction projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of project estimating, contract negotiation, and construction operations.
