Job Description

As a Scribe, you will document physician visits in the EMR system in real time, capturing accurate and thorough medical information during each patient encounter. You will scribe for multiple physicians, adapting to individual documentation styles and preferences while maintaining consistency and quality. Your role will involve recording patient histories, exam findings, assessments, and treatment plans as directed by the physician. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of all medical documentation, including medical terminology, diagnoses, and procedures, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support a high volume of patient care, assisting physicians in managing a clinic that may see 80–100 patients per day.
• Perform precise data entry related to ophthalmology and retina care, following clinic protocols and EMR standards.
• Collaborate closely with clinic staff and a team of other scribes to support efficient clinic flow and patient throughput.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all healthcare documentation and privacy standards.
• Travel between assigned clinics, providing consistent documentation support across multiple locations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in medical terminology and medical documentation.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• At least 1 year of on-site scribing experience.
• Strong typing and data entry skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of patient care.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS/AS in a life science.
• Ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Strong multitasking abilities.
• High energy and driven personality.

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced environment, with clinics seeing up to 100 patients a day. You will work Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM, depending on clinic needs. This is a float position requiring travel three days a week, with transportation provided and travel time paid. Training takes place at the administrative building in the Galleria. Employees are tied to three clinics, with the home clinic being one of the busiest in Houston. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, with short, groomed nails and hair tied back.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellaire, TX.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Bellaire,TX.
